A New Dragon Ball Series Is Set For July 2015

Japanese studio Toei Animation has announced it will be releasing a new Dragon Ball series for broadcast in Japan. It will be titled Dragon Ball Super and Toei Animation Europe have described it as:

The first all-new Dragon Ball television series to be released in 18 years

The series will tell stories that take place after the events of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F and Toei have promised that:

The show will create a bold, new universe welcoming to fans and endearing to new viewers.

Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama has developed the storyline for Dragon Ball Super and will be acting supervisor for the project and will overlook the entire project.

The series will be broadcast on Japan's Fuji TV on Sundays starting in July. Producer Osamu Nozaki had this to say:

Having loved Dragon Ball since childhood, it is very exciting to be a part of this project. Mr. Toriyama has developed a plot that’s not only a dream come true for Dragon Ball‘s millions of fans, but one that will foster in a new generation of viewers.

While no plans have been announced for a wider release including Europe and the US just yet, surely it is only a matter of time?
