NEW SITE IDEAS

The new site is in the works and on its way.

Here we can post all of our ideas for the new site, set  some goals, and discuss what we want to do with the site and where we want to take it.

Not everything here is going to be, or has to be, done at first. Some things we will not be able to do until later in the future.

Post anything and everything. From site design and layout to ideas on how to gain members and keep traffic up.

Since our homepage is going to be a blog/news type site, we could easily fill it with content by having the members participate.

Members can post a thread where they give an opinion or write a news article on something like a game/movie/sport/etc. and if its good enough we can feature it on the front page.

Will give posters something to do, work for and in return can help us gain traffic by always having things to put on the front page.

We could have a twitch stream for the new site that staff (and maybe VIP members) will have access to and will be able to stream from.

We can also host the stream on the front page or somewhere on the site so that everyone can watch directly from the site if they want to.

We can also host personal streams of certain members.

We could start a podcast to discuss a range of topics. Or have different podcast each with their own topic. An MMA podcast, a gaming podcast, etc.

We could invite site members on as guests to discuss things with us and keep things interesting. We could use the most popular forum threads as discussion topics.

Say theres a big thread where people are having a debate over something MMA related. Take that and make it the topic of the podcast.

We could set up a bookie for everyone to bet on things. (Sports/gaming matches/etc.

Let people earn currency by winning bets and doing things around the forum.

Currency can be traded in for things. (more features?)

Maybe we can have a raffle and you can use your currency to buy raffle tickets. Winner gets a giftcard or some shit.

We could have gaming meetups with members. (PC/PS4/XBONE)

Could do like a game of Battlefield or MGO (whatever game most of us have) where its staff vs. members. And we can stream it from the main twitch channel and from player channels if they want to stream it.

Let other members bet on who they think will win. MVP of the match gets a prize.

We'll of course have games. Pick'ems and drafts and whatever else. Let members make their own games too.

Now for goals and to-do lists.

1. Get the forum up and running.
2. Work on layout/theme/design/logo. Find something that fits the theme and looks nice. Pay if we have to.
3. Work on attracting members. Get on social media. Spread the word as much as possible.

That should really be it for now. Growing the forum/community is the first main goal. Then once we have a good member base and traffic is at good pace we can start working on the blog.

We can do other things while we build the forum as well. Like start the twitch channel and Youtube page.

Here's a few sites that have some XenForo themes. They're fairly cheap. Most I see is $35. Unless you can find a free one. Some of these are really nice though.
